Čara is in the middle of the island, just 5 km from Smokvica and although small, is very similar in appearance and position. Stone houses are situated on a hillside above the wide Field Cara. Real enjoyment eyes to see the land so well cultivated. Population of Cara are excellent farmers, the main cultures are vine famous varieties is Posip. The parish church of St. Peter was first mentioned in 1329 and later to the larger needs was rebuilt. To commemorate the apparition of our Lady in 1686, maintains a liturgical feast day on July 25 Our Lady of Cara Field when a procession of the faithful going through the entire field. In Cara, still remained a large number of castle simple tower, which served as an observation if threatened an attack from the sea. This organized Guard-kumpanija rose to the defence of the island, together with the neighbouring kumpanija. Cara has about 600 inhabitants, but they are slowly moving from Cara and settling by the nearby bay of Zavalatica. Were the population are turning to tourism, Zavalatica the last decade turning into a tourist destination. It is an oasis of peace and quiet, and will provide guests with the right relaxation and friendly locals.

Near Cara are two beautiful beaches, one of the most beautiful on the island. These are the bays Zitna; deep inland and narrow bay with sand, small pebbles, sloping smooth rocks and turquoise sea that enchants a person. A few kilometers further are Pupnatska Luka. A deep valley with a large pebble beach, located between the wild and steep cliffs and pine trees.
